FINAL!!!

6 11x17 computer laid out pages. These need to be super creative pages with great drawings. The final is worth 30% of your grade, so please focus on that before anything else. Please dress professional, and be prepared to present on Monday at 6:30 sharp!

Homework 14

1. Inclass: Draw 5 Pages of your imaginary friends. 3 friends per page.

2. Draw materials. Go out and draw the following materials. (3 Pages per element, 3 sketches per page.) Wood, Metal, and Glass. Please observe the characteristics that make these materials look the way they do. Make sure you draw a variety of shapes from basic to organic.

3. Go and find 15 photos of materials. 5 wood, 5 glass and 5 metal.

4. Bring in a concept for your resume.

The second two should have 1 page of mens and 1 page of womens are designed for a second shoe brand. The last set, one page of mens and one page of womens should be for your own brand.

Homework 9

1. Inclass. Draw your neighbors face. In your groups of 4, alternate every 20 minutes and draw your neighbors faces.

2. Do 1 page of your self portrait. 30-40 minutes.

3. Take 6 Pictures of feet. 3 women, and 3 men. PRINT 8.5 x 11 at 40% opacity. YOU WILL BE USING THEM IN CLASS

4. Bring in your 4 final table lamp and chair renderings for crit.

Homework 8

1. Inclass: Do 12 Pages of the Shadow excercises.
2. Homework: Do 3 Pages of comps of your design. (4 per page.) Setup your design, find a cool perspective, make sure it looks right, and figure out the shadows.
3. Do 4 PAGES of final renderings on newsprint. (1-2hours a piece.) 1 image of the lamp, 1 of the table, one of the chair, and one of a combination of all three. Make sure each is large on the page, dynamic, bold, and well drawn.

Inclass: Do quick block drawings on 4 pages of newsprint of all 18 photos. I will demonstrate. You must get perspective, and lighting ball, and shading correct. Focus on developing FORM! This MUST be done before class lets out.

Homework:

1. Render 3 chairs on 18x24 news print. These need to be as good as you can render. (1+ hours each.) Make sure perspective is correct before you do anything.

2. Ideation: Draw 9 pages of lamp, table, and chair ideas. (4 ideas per page.) 30 minutes per page. Get creative. Really try to come up with some innovative ideas.

1. Get in groups of 4, and pick out each others 3 best autoshow images.

2. Draw those 3 images + 1 of your favorites and draw them on your 18x24 newsprint. Please spend 1 hour each.

3. Find 6 images of lamps, 6 images of tables, and 6 images of chairs. Please make sure that they are inspirational objects, and that you have great images.

Homework 4

ATTENTION, PLEASE NOTE HOMEWORK ADDITION AT THE BOTTOM!!!!!

Inclass:
1. Spend 40 minutes with your classmate to refine your design.
2. Spend the remanding class time designing your robots arch nemesis.

Out of Class.
1. Do 3 finished action renderings of your robots. One of your robot, one of your nemesis, and one of both battling each other. These should take 60 minutes each. Make sure you pick exciting and interesting perspectives. Also make sure you spend time to get quality line work and shading, articulating as much detail as you can.


2. Sketchbook: Goto the natural history museum and do 6 sketch pages. Two pages of environment, two page details (3 details per page) and two pages of people.

3. Goto the Detroit Autoshow and take 24 photos. Print, put in your book, and bring in.

Homework 3

1. Do 3 (18x24 newsprint) "box" drawings from your reference. Please refer to the demo in class. You will draw 4 examples on each page for a grand total of 12 sketches. Ever single sketch needs to have a horizon line, the perspective points and lines, the location of the light source, and the location of the shadow. This should be done in class.

2. Do 8 pages on 18x24 newsprint of "r2" robot ideations. Each page needs to have 5 concepts sketches on it. Each page should take 30 - 40 minuets x 8 pages = 5 - 7 hours Focus on getting your perspectives, lines and shading right. Use Black Prisma Color.

3. Sketchbook assignment: Goto the Law Quad and goto 2 seperate locations and draw 2 pages of environments, and 3 pages of interesting details. The interesting detail page should have a minimum of 3 different sketches on it. Each page should take 20-30 minutes. 5 pages x 20-30 min = 1.5 - 3 hours. Use Ball Point Pen.

4. Goto the autoshow and take 24 photos of really cool stuff.
